He is a nature lover in all its forms and decided to build his life around it! A little over two years ago, Luca discovered sailing, which quickly became a new passion. Since then, he has been fully dedicated to learning and sailing, starting out in a recreational capacity along the coasts of Argentina and Uruguay. For the past nine months, he has been sailing the Panamanian and Colombian Caribbean as a captain and crew member on various sailboats.

Having fallen in love with the Guna Yala region, Luca decided to stay indefinitely to continue exploring the area and accompany adventurers who want to sail and experience this paradise. Sara is an Italian girl who arrived in the San Blas Islands after a year of backpacking and exploring Latin America. She immediately fell in love with the place, its culture, and life on a boat. Since then, she hasn’t stepped off a boat, and her sailing adventures include Colombia, Panama, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic. She decided to leave her life as a primary school teacher in Italy to return to the place where she left her heart and make the boat her home, cooking Mediterranean dishes that blend the various culinary traditions and cultures she discovered during her travels. She speaks fluent Italian, Spanish, and English, and she has a deep passion for freediving, in which she is an instructor.

Meet our experienced and knowledgeable crew! With over 7,000 nautical miles under their belt, including a Pacific crossing, they are well-equipped to provide an exceptional sailing experience. Having lived on their own boat for several years, they bring a deep understanding of the sea. As biologists, they offer a unique perspective on the marine world, making your underwater experiences even more enriching.
Elena is the captain, she has 9 years of experience sailing in San Blas, she knows the region and the Kunas who live in the Islands very well. She can show you the best spots and tell you the story of this magical place. She speaks German, English, Spanish and a little Kuna (the native language of San Blas). Lea knows how to prepare the best cocktails and food with a lot of creativity. She speaks German, English, Spanish, French and Portuguese. A key member of the crew is Nali, a dog who has lived aboard since birth. Very sociable and a great sailor, Nali is an exceptional pit bull with 6 years of experience at sea. She swims better than she runs and takes charge of watching over the boat. A human’s best friend, Nali loves company but is always respectful and kind.
Captain Gregory Sobarzo, 47 years old, Chilean. Greg comes from a family of sailors, has lived and worked on boats since he was a child and has enough miles on sailboats to sail around the world a few times. He has sailed extensively in Europe and the Caribbean, as well as from San Diego to Chile, and has been sailing on the Colombia-Panama route since 2016.
He is passionate about freediving, bodyboarding and water sports in general. He is a native Spanish speaker, fluent in English and is learning German.
Pauline is French, 36 years old and has been in love with Sanblas for 7 years. She is very cheerful and dynamic, adaptable, loves nature and cooking is a real pleasure! He believes that the cuisine provides 50% of the onboard experience and it is essential that people leave the ship having had the best trip of their lives.

All your recreational activities will be guided by Captain Boris, a 29-year-old, highly experienced Argentine sailor who has sailed thousands of kilometers from Argentina to Panama. For him, guiding is instinctive and he will always do his best to make you feel at home and discover the most fascinating things in San Blas.
Then we have José, a 28-year-old Salvadoran who is always attentive and always takes care of the cleanliness and needs of the boat.
Finally, we have Kaila in the kitchen, a 25-year-old Australian chef who will surprise you with exquisite dishes created with great detail, flavor and love.

The Lagoon 42P has a Spanish crew formed by Abigail and Tolo. Experienced, they have been working together for many years in catamaran charters, both in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, and have now settled in San Blas, since they discovered its beauty and its people.

Captain Estefania Gamarra arrived in Guna Yala in early 2012 after a year of backpacking across South America starting from her native Bolivia. She lived with a local guna family on Chichime island for 9 months. In that year she learned to speak the guna language and formed a deep bond with the family that hosted her, spending her days harvesting coconuts, cooking and sleeping on a hammock like the rest of them. During that time, she also worked on a sailboat to learn to sail. Mind-blown by the concept of being able to travel in your house like sailing allows, Stef bought her first small sailboat, Esperanza, and has sailed it across Guna Yala for the last 12 years. She's passionate about the guna culture and the belief system that has kept its people very connected to nature, and her mission during her trips now on her comfy Kaya catamaran is for her guests to connect with the place and the people she knows well, creating the conditions for guests to be transformed by this very special experience. Stef speaks native English and Spanish, conversational French, Portuguese and Guna. She's traveled and lived all over the world but Guna Yala is the place she will always return to.
First Mate and Cook Marcelino is a local guna sailor who has been doing charter longer than anyone else around. As part of the old guard of guna sailors, he is the predecessor of many young guna captains, including his own son who he's bread as a sailor through and through. Marcelino knows the guna waters like no other, so he'll take you to the best spots for snorkeling and fishing. He's also a pro bringing out the best flavors of the local seafood in his well thought out dishes made with freshly caught fish and shellfish and locally bought fruits and vegetables. Marcelino's gregarious personally enchants his guests and everyone leaves loving having had him as crew. He speaks native Guna and Spanish and understands English coupled with hand gestures better than anyone!
